Is “former student” here a euphemism for “dropout?” I’m sure they sell “alumnus/alumni” plate holders for aTm, right?... Right???

He is certainly a Disney fan.

Apparently that’s what Aggie alumni call themselves
![]() 03/20/2018 at 19:57 |

I believe that’s what they call their alumni association. I asked someone who went there about it.
![]() 03/20/2018 at 19:58 |

Wow. But why?! Is alumni not a patriotic word or something?

SpoooOOooOOOooky.

I don’t know. Maybe it was something said in jest that they turned into their own thing.

good, go ask them if they went to UCLA!

“Alumni” sounds too foreign and un-American.
I have many Aggie friends, and not all of the stereotypes are true. But I did go to a party at College Station where there was a sheep tied to a tree. Just sayin.

You see that. It’s dumb. Similarly, UT’s alumni association is called Texas Exes, which also carries negative connotations for me.
But yeah, when I think former student, I think of people like this:
Former Cornell Student With Weapons Stockpile Will Be Evaluated

Texas A&M is a freaking cult house.

There are no Ex-Marines, only former Marines?
![]() 03/20/2018 at 20:18 |

Because Aggies can’t spell “alumni.”
Hook ‘em.

Did anyone take the sheep home that night?

Wow that sounds like a great way to get punched
![]() 03/20/2018 at 20:27 |

Too bad the real UT was founded 51 years before Texas became a state.

Good go ask them about their opinion on chihuahua dogs! Then ask them about their opinion on Disney destroying some laws to keep the copyright on mickey the mouse, then ask them their opinion about Chevy cars!

THIS IS WHY WE NON-AGGIE TEXANS MAKE FUN OF AGGIES.
That and College Station’s road infrastructure makes dick all sense.

I saw this very car parked downtown a couple of months ago, had the same thought, and even took a picture of the plate and plate holder with the intention of posting it here! I’m glad you did.

None of that is as terrible as being called a Bruin

I thought they were simply on extended leave...
![]() 03/20/2018 at 20:35 |

Yeah, it’s like the same thing, right?
BTW, in the field I work in, if you want someone to get something done, you ignore, the Navy, The Army, and the Air Force guys, and just ask the Marines....
Ooh-rah, bitches.

I mean, I just searched “Texas A&M vs” and let google autocomplete it.
I don’t know who hates who the most but I think I hit a nerve...

And to think, one day in the future, being a college drop out from a 20th century university will only be equivalent to being a high school drop out. That person will have to enroll and drop out all over again.

Well Aggies say that Longhorns attend TU....don’t ask me why.

My experience has been different. Marines are the ultimate demolition crew, because they break more stuff than any other ex-mil people I’ve worked with. They’re between Army and Navy in most other ways, though.
My favorite ex-mil people to work with (especially in field service) came out of the Navy. They have the right mix of being willing to do anything you ask of them (and they’ll get it done without hand holding), while being capable of solving problems independently.
![]() 03/20/2018 at 21:31 |
|
But they are much less wishy-washy about destroying things, so there’s that...
![]() 03/20/2018 at 21:46 |

The only ones that I don’t trust to destroy things (or get anything done if they’re even marginally uncomfortable) are from the Air Force. They’re a bunch of whiny bitches in my experience, always expecting to have their hand held or some special consideration. They’re the people that complain about somewhere being too dangerous or dirty, or some other BS.

I work for the Air Force....

I don’t get alumni plate surrounds and bumper stickers in general... woohooo look at me I spent all this money to go to school and get a degree and a career and now I’m middle aged and all I have to show for it is the some crappy Ford that everyone would think is an Avis rental if I didn’t put these stickers on it GOOOOOO STATE!!!!

I always wanted to put a [insert alma mater here] plate on my pickup. I once saw purple U-Dub plates on a purple Tercel. So good.

say your in a career that has everything for your needs and your talent, but it doesn’t require a degree, but after few years your boss decides your a leader and wants to make you a supervisor, he offers to send you to business school at a major university and you pass your classes in personnel management, then you retire after 43 years, and your a proud former student student of Texas Christian University(me)
